LANCIO UFFICIALE D'AGENZIA

Londra, 24 gennaio 2007 - Sony Computer Entertainment Europe ha annunciato in data odierna che PLAYSTATION®3 verrà lanciata nei territori PAL, comprendenti il Regno Unito, il giorno 23 Marzo al prezzo di 425£.

In risposta alle richieste dei rivenditori e dei consumatori, SCEE ha confermato che inizialmente soltanto il modello 60GB sarà disponibile, con il modello 20GB che seguirà più tardi durante l'anno a seconda della domanda.

Secondo le previsioni, sarà disponibile 1 milione di unità PS3 durante il periodo del lancio iniziale tra tutti i territori SCEE.

SCEE ha inoltre annunciato una line-up stellare composta di 30 titoli per PS3, che include titoli attesi con ansia e pubblicati da SCEE come Resistance: Fall of Men™, MotorStorm™, Genji™: Days of the Blade, FORMULA ONE CHAMPIONSHIP EDITION e Ridge Racer™ 7. Un ampio spettro di titoli di ogni genere proveniente da terzi produttori sarà inoltre disponibile al lancio, produttori quali Electronic Arts, Activision, Namco Bandai, Sega, Take 2, Ubisoft, Vivendi Universal e Sony Online Entertainment.

In aggiunta ai giochi su disco, un eccitante elenco di giochi scaricabili di diversi generi debutterà su PLAYSTATION®Network. Questi includeranno icone del panorama videoludico come Tekken®: Dark Resurrection e Gran Turismo® HD Concept; il debutto a pieno titolo della famosa saga Gran Turismo su PS3 che supporta la risoluzione con full HD (1080p). Creato da Polyphony Digital Inc. e pubblicato da Sony Computer Entertainment, Gran Turimo® HD Concept è stato scaricato da 350.000 utenti dal momento in cui è stato rilasciato lo scorso Dicembre 2006 in Nord America ed in Giappone.

Saranno inoltre disponibile su PLAYSTATION®Network rompicapo quali Go! Sudoku and Go! Puzzle, e giochi innovativi come Blast Factor™ and flOw™, studiati esclusivamente per PLAYSTATION 3 e che tengono fede alla promessa di rendere disponibili contenuti originali creati da sviluppatori e produttori non convenzionali.

Contestualmente del lancio Europeo, sarà reso disponibile un nuovo System update per rendere ancor più efficiente l'intrattenimento.

Annunciando i dettagli del lancio. Ray Maguire, SVP e MD di SCE UK ha dichiarato: "Seguendo l'enorme successo del lancio di PS3 in Giappone e Nord America, siamo assolutamente contenti di essere in grado di portare numeri significativi di PS3 in UK. L'essere in grado di lanciare la console con oltre 30 titoli e di corredare tutto ciò con esperienze di gioco online che coinvolgono ogni genere, dimostra che questa è la line-up più significativa mai disposta per il lancio di una console PlayStation, e questo è ciò che i fan PlayStation in UK stavano agognando".

London, 24 January 2007 - Sony Computer Entertainment Europe today announced that PLAYSTATION®3 will be launched in the PAL territories including the United Kingdom on 23rd March 2007 at a price of £425.

Responding to retail and consumer demand, SCEE confirmed that initially only the 60GB model would be available, with the 20GB model to follow later in the year dependent on demand.

An expected one million PS3 units will be made available during the initial launch period to all SCEE territories.

SCEE also announced a stellar launch line-up of over 30 game titles for PS3, including eagerly awaited titles published by SCEE such as Resistance: Fall of Man™, MotorStorm™, Genji™: Days of the Blade, FORMULA ONE CHAMPIONSHIP EDITION and Ridge Racer™ 7. An exceptional range of titles in every genre will also be available at launch from the world's leading third party publishers, including Electronic Arts, Activision, Namco Bandai, Sega, Take 2, Ubisoft, Vivendi Universal, and Sony Online Entertainment.

In addition to games on disc, an exciting range of fully-featured downloadable games
will debut on the PLAYSTATION®Network. These will include gaming icons such as Tekken®: Dark Resurrection and Gran Turismo® HD Concept; the fully-featured PS3 debut of the best-selling franchise Gran Turismo, realised with full HD (1080p) visual quality. Created by Polyphony Digital Inc and published by Sony Computer Entertainment, Gran Turismo® HD Concept has been downloaded by more than 350,000 users since it was released in December 2006 in North America and Japan.

Also available on the PLAYSTATION®Network will be brainteasers such as Go! Sudoku and Go! Puzzle, and innovative games such as Blast Factor™ and flOw™, designed exclusively for PLAYSTATION 3 and delivering on the promise to provide original content created by non-traditional developers and publishers.

Concurrent with the European launch, a new System Update to further enhance the entertainment potential of PS3 will be issued.
